After the game, manager Walt Weiss met with the media.
Weiss (via Zach Sweet of MLB.com): “We’ve got some good names in that lineup, but it’s just a matter of getting going again, hitting some homers. … When we’re hitting the ball in the seats, that’s when we’re really thriving offensively.”
Barrett Sallee of 680 The Fan added: “Braves manager Walt Weiss points out that the Braves have been very reliant on the home run this year (and previous years).”
Here’s what people were saying in response to Weiss:
@MarkYarbro: “Maybe change the approach next season. Too late for this one”
@RyanLottinger: “I’m all about the analytics, but Walt really is digging deep here.”
@cehouston18: “Been that way for 5 years, and nothing has changed. Need to gut the roster.”
