He has been out since May 14 with an injury.
MLB.com wrote (on August 6): “Ramped up his activity and could be going out on a rehab assignment soon.”
Before getting hurt, Story had been batting .206 with 34 hits, three home runs, 19 RBIs, 16 runs and four stolen bases in 41 games.
He is in the middle of his 5th season playing for Boston.
Prior to his stint with the Red Sox, Story had spent the first six years of his career with the Colorado Rockies.
Story is a two-time MLB All-Star.
He will turn 34 in November.
