Ahead of Sunday’s game, the Cubs announced that they had made a series of roster moves.
Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic wrote: “Cubs select the contract of LHP Ty Blach from Iowa. Javier Assad has been optioned to Iowa and Hunter Harvey moved to the 60-day IL.”

Blach last pitched in an MLB game during the 2024 season.
He has spent part of seven seasons with the Colorado Rockies, San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles.
Over 156 career games, the 35-year-old has gone 23-33 with a 5.42 ERA.

Assad is in his fifth MLB season (all with the Cubs).
