On Friday, the Detroit Tigers will open up a series with the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park in California.
They are coming off a series where they took two out of three games from the Seattle Mariners in Washington.

The Tigers continue to play without Kerry Carpenter.
He has been out since July 26 with an injury.
Ahead of their series with the Giants, the Tigers announced the latest update.
MLB.com wrote (on August 6): “Received cortisone injection in left foot, and will get orthotics in shoes. Resumed activity this week.”
According to the site, he is still supposed to return this month.
Before getting hurt, Carpenter had been batting .208 with 48 hits, 13 home runs, 36 RBIs and 27 runs in 81 games.
Looking At Carpenter
Carpenter was picked in the 19th round of the 2019 MLB Draft.
He has spent all five seasons of his MLB career with the Tigers.
Over 447 career games, the 28-year-old is batting .258 with 374 hits, 83 home runs, 229 RBIs, 203 runs and seven stolen bases.
Carpenter should give the Tigers a nice boost to the lineup whenever he returns this season.
Last season, he hit 26 home runs with 62 RBIs.
Looking At The Tigers Right Now
The Tigers come into Friday night as the fourth-place team in the American League Central with a 56-59 record in 115 games.
They have won six out of their last ten games (and are 26-32 in 58 games on the road).
Following their series in San Francisco, the Tigers will host the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday.
