With Torkelson batting seventh against the Rays, Brent Callahan will now be hitting fifth.

Looking at Torkelson’s 2026 Season So Far With the Tigers
Torkelson has appeared in 129 games this season with the Tigers, where he has recorded 20 home runs, 63 RBI, and a .221 batting average. This is after he posted 31 home runs, 71 RBI, and a .240 batting average in 155 games for Detroit during the 2025 campaign.
Overall, Torkelson has been providing the Tigers’ lineup with some pop but has also not hit as well for contact this season. He has also been struggling a lot at the plate as of late, as he has not gotten a hit in each of his last eight games. Now, he will be looking to change that by having a big game as Detroit takes on the Rays from here. It will be interesting to see if he can do just that.
