The Los Angeles Dodgers announced today that they have claimed pitcher Grant Holman off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks.
In order to make room for Holman on the 40-man roster, Los Angeles has transferred Gavin Stone from the 15-day Injured List to the 60-day IL.
The Diamondbacks DFA’d Holman on Opening Day to make room for other open arms in the organization.

Dodgers Claim Grant Holman
Grant Holman is a 25-year-old pitcher out of the University of California-Berkeley. He’s 6-foot-6, 240 pounds, which is a big frame for a pitcher.
He’s pitched 38.2 total innings in Major League Baseball with the Athletics over two years. In 2025, he made 22 appearances and pitched to the tune of a 5.09 ERA over 23 total innings.
In 2024, Grant Holman had a 4.02 ERA over 15.2 innings.
This is mostly a depth add for the Dodgers, but if injuries plague the Los Angeles clubhouse, Holman might see a few innings with the club.

Is There Room for Grant Holman on the Dodgers Pitching Staff?
This is one of those roster moves where you could check back in a couple of days and Grant Holman might be off the Dodgers roster.
He’ll likely start in Triple-A, and if Holman isn’t productive there, he won’t be on the Dodgers roster for long.
Holman was taken in the sixth round of the MLB draft by the *then* Oakland Athletics.
He earned his MLB debut by stunning in Triple-A. In 2024, Holman posted a 0.92 ERA with the Athletics Triple-A Las Vegas squad over 29.1 innings.
Also in 2025, Holman gave up zero earned runs in 9.1 innings pitched in the minors, so it’s clear he is kind of a fringe MLB player. A guy who dominates in the minors but struggles in the majors.
It’ll be interesting to see if he logs any innings with the Dodgers in 2026.
