Former Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star Is Still An MLB Free Agent

Tyler Anderson is coming off a season where he appeared in 26 games for the Los Angeles Angels.

The 36-year-old went 2-8 with a 4.56 ERA.

Former Dodgers Star Is Still An MLB Free Agent

As of March 24, Anderson remains a free agent who is available to sign with any team in the MLB.

Despite turning 36 over the offseason, he could still be an important veteran for plenty of clubs.

Anderson’s MLB Start

Anderson was the 20th pick in the 2011 MLB Draft.

He has played ten seasons for the Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Seattle Mariners and San Francisco Giants.

Anderson’s Rise In MLB

During the 2022 season (with the Dodgers), he went 15-5 with a 2.57 ERA in 30 games (and made the MLB All-Star Game).

In addition to 2022, Anderson also made his second trip to the All-Star Game with the Angels (in 2024).

That season, he went 10-15 with a 3.81 ERA in 31 games.

InsideHalos wrote (on February 4): “Per Jeff Fletcher & Rhett Bollinger, the Angels have clarified the #Angels have NOT signed Tyler Anderson to a minor league deal stating it was a mistake on MLB Transaction Page.

False alarm everyone, Anderson is still a free agent, & has not signed a deal with the Angels.”

Anderson’s total stats are 62-72 in 231 games (223 starts) with a 4.30 ERA.

After a slow start in Colorado, he carved out a very strong career for himself with the two Los Angeles teams.

As for the current Dodgers, they will play their fist game of the 2026 regular season on Thursday when they host the Arizona Diamondbacks.
