Ahead of Tuesday’s game, the Dodgers announced that they had made a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
They also shared that they had designated Michael Siani for assignment.
The Dodgers wrote (via X): “The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired OF Alek Thomas from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for OF Jose Requena. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers designated OF Michael Siani for assignment.”
Siani did not appear in a game for the Dodgers.
He had played 29 games for their Triple-A affiliate (Oklahoma City).
Siani’s MLB Background

Siani was picked in the fourth round of the 2018 MLB Draft.
He spent the first one and a half seasons of his career with the Cincinnati Reds.
The 26-year-old then played two and a half seasons for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Over 160 career games, Siani is batting .221 with 76 hits, two home runs, 20 RBI’s, 48 runs and 21 stolen bases.

The 26-year-old could be a good addition to another team for depth on a Minor League contract.
It will be interesting to see if he clears waivers (and ends up back in Oklahoma City).
Dodgers Right Now

The Dodgers come into Tuesday’s showdown as the second-place team in the National League West with a 24-17 record in 41 games.
They are a half-game back of the San Diego Padres for first.
Following three more games against the Giants, the Dodgers will visit the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night.
