By getting on base, Ohtani also made notable history.

Ohtani is batting .254 with 16 hits, five home runs, ten RBI’s and ten runs in 17 games this season.

Nelson Espinal of Dodgers Nation wrote: “Shohei Ohtani’s on-base streak continues! The Mets elect to intentionally walk Ohtani with a man on second and one out. He has now reached safety for 48 straight plate appearances, still No. 4 all-time in Dodgers history. He is 11 away from the record.”

Dodgers After Latest Win

The Dodgers are once again on fire to start the season.

They are the first-place team in the National League West with a 13-4 record in 17 games.

Over their last ten games, the Dodgers have gone 8-2 (and they are 8-3 at home).

The Dodgers have one more game at home with the Mets.

They will then head on the road to visit the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants.

Last season, the Dodgers won their second straight World Series Championship.

Ohtani’s Career

Ohtani continues to build on a legendary career.

The four-time MVP had spent his first six years playing for the Los Angeles Angels.

However, he did not make the MLB playoffs in that span.

Since joining the Dodgers, he has only won the World Series.

The five-time All-Star hit 109 home runs in his first two seasons with the Dodgers.

In addition to his incredible hitting, Ohtani is also among the best pitchers in the MLB.

He is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in two games this season.
