Los Angeles Dodgers World Series Champ Becomes Free Agent

This week, a former Dodgers World Series Champion became a free agent.
Jack Flaherty (most recently with the Detroit Tigers) will now be available to sign with any team in the MLB.
MLB.com wrote (on October 29): “RHP Jack Flaherty elected free agency.”

Flaherty was injured for a large chunk of the 2026 season.
He finished the year going 3-8 with a 4.48 ERA in 20 games (19 starts).
At 31, Flaherty will be an intriguing free agent to hit the market.
Looking At Flaherty

Flaherty was picked in the 1st round of the 2014 MLB Draft.
He spent the first 6.5 seasons of his career with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Following the Cardinals, Flaherty had a stop with the Baltimore Orioles.

Flaherty then spent the 2024 season with the Tigers and Dodgers.
After winning the 2024 World Series title, he returned to the Tigers the following year.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan wrote (on February 2, 2025): “Jack Flaherty’s deal will pay him $25 million this year, after which he can opt out. The guaranteed salary in 2026 is $10 million, and it can get as high as $20 million if he starts 15 games this season. Flaherty found a lot of success with the Tigers last year and now he’s back.”
Looking At The Dodgers

The Dodgers finished the regular season as the top team in the National League West.
They went 100-62.
