On Tuesday night, the New York Mets will play the Arizona Diamondbacks at Citi Field.
The Mets are coming off a trip out west where they beat the San Francisco Giants in three out of four games.
New York Mets Make Carlos Beltran Announcement
Before their series with the Diamondbacks, the Mets made an announcement about franchise legend Carlos Beltran.
The Mets wrote (via X): “On Saturday, September 19, Carlos Beltrán will be inducted to the Mets Hall of Fame and have his number 15 retired.”
Beltran played part of seven seasons for the Mets.
He made five All-Star Games in that span, batting .280 with 149 home runs and 559 RBI’s over 839 games with the franchise.

Beltran’s MLB Career
Beltran was picked in the second round of the 1995 MLB Draft.
In addition to the Mets, the Hall of Famer also had stints with the Kansas City Royals, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers and San Francisco Giants over 20 MLB seasons.
He batted .279 with 435 home runs, 1,587 RBI’s and 312 stolen bases in 2,586 games.
Beltran’s longest stints came with the Mets and Royals.
He made nine All-Star Games and won the 2017 World Series (with the Astros).

The Mets have gone 6-4 in their first ten games of the 2026 season.
They are 2-1 in the three games they have played at Citi Field.
Last year, the Mets missed the MLB playoffs (on the final day of the regular season).
