The Mets have had a very tough start to the 2026 season.

They are at the bottom of the National League East with a 9-16 in 25 games.

At home, the Mets have gone just 5-7 in 12 games at Citi Field.

Anthony DiComo of MLB.com wrote (before Friday’s game): “Roster move: the Mets called up Carl Edwards Jr., a veteran reliever who had been starting games with a 5.29 ERA at Triple-A Syracuse. Edwards will become the fourth starting pitcher/swingman in the Mets’ bullpen. Christian Scott optioned back to Syracuse.”

Following their series with the Rockies, the Mets will remain at home to host the Washington Nationals.

They will need to capitalize on their long homestand in order to turn their season around.
