Luis Robert: Breaking News

Robert is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics. It's likely just a maintenance day for Robert, who started the previous six games and batted .364 (8-for-22) with four walks, a homer, two steals and five runs during that span. Carson Benge will shift to center field for Sunday's series finale while Tyrone Taylor and Brett Baty start in the corner outfield.

Robert went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Thursday in a loss to the Diamondbacks. Robert produced the first and only Mets run with a solo shot to center field in the first inning. The long ball was his second of the season and extended his on-base streak to eight games. In fact, Robert has reached base in all but one of his 12 contests on the campaign and is slashing .333/.480/.487 with the pair of homers, eight runs, seven RBI and two stolen bases while taking 11 walks, tied for fifth-most in the majors.

Robert went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs scored in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Giants. Robert singled three times and stole his first two bases of the season Sunday, as he helped create multiple runs for the Mets. Robert has just one extra-base hit in nine games with his new team but is slashing .333/.474/.433 with one home run, six RBI, six runs scored, two steals and an 8:5 BB:K across 38 plate appearances.
