Grichuk was picked in the first round of the 2009 MLB Draft.
He is in his 13th season.
Before the Yankees, the 34-year-old had stints with the St. Louis Cardinals, Toronto Blue Jays, Colorado Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Angels and Kansas City Royals.
Right now, Grichuk is batting .100 with one RBI and six runs in 12 games for the Yankees.
