On Saturday evening, the New York Yankees will continue their series with the Houston Astros in Texas.
They are in the middle of a seven-game winning streak, most recently beating the Astros by a score of 12-4 on Friday.
Giancarlo Stanton finished Friday’s victory with one hit and one RBI in three at-bats.
However, he exited early with an injury.
Brendan Kuty of The Athletic wrote (during Friday’s game): “Announcement here is that Giancarlo Stanton left tonight’s game with right lower leg tightness.”

For Saturday’s game, the Yankees have announced their starting lineup.
Stanton is not in the lineup, but he shared a positive update when he met with the media.
Greg Joyce of The New York Post wrote: “Giancarlo Stanton said he feels better than last night, but they’re going to try to get to 24 hours out or tomorrow and then re-evaluate where he’s at and what to do. No tests yet.”

Stanton is currently batting .256 with 23 hits, three home runs, 14 RBI’s, eight runs and one stolen base in 24 games.
Gary Phillips of NY Daily News Sports wrote: “Asked if he could pinch-hit tonight, Giancarlo Stanton said he hasn’t tried swinging a bat yet, so he’s not sure. Wasn’t sure if he would even try swinging either.”

Stanton And The Yankees
While Stanton is far from his prime at 36, he is still a very important part of the team’s lineup.
He is coming off a season where he batted .273 with 24 home runs in just 77 games.
The five-time All-Star had spent the first eight years of his career playing for the Miami Marlins.
Phillips also reported: “With regards to Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Boone said that the #Yankees will let the next several hours play out before deciding if this is an IL or day-to-day situation. He also said that no one from Triple-A is currently on the way to Houston.”
The Yankees are having an excellent start to the 2026 MLB season.
They are the first-place team in the American League East with a 17-9 record in 26 games.
On the road, the Yankees are 9-4 in 13 games outside of the Bronx.
After two more games with the Astros, they will remain in Texas for a series with the Rangers that starts on Monday night.

After making the 2024 World Series, the Yankees are coming off a season where they lost to the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.
