Here’s what people were saying about Volpe on social media:

@YankeeSource: “Good piece of hitting from Volpe to drive in Lombard to follow.”

@MattFeinbergEsq: “Love to see him lining it the other way. That needs to be his sweet spot.”

@lakeeffectkvd: “There he goes. Good job.”

@cai_rogers7: “Anthony Volpe rips an opposite field RBI double!! Volpe then stole third base on the next pitch, his 2nd SB of the season”

@TurtleneckAV11: “That’s a promising peace of hitting, full count, hits it hard the other way to score the run.”

@OmariiBrown: “He’s going to be much better at 2B. Get your confidence back young man”

@NYY_Prospects: “SWB lost 8-3. 2 RBI for Cabrera and Anthony Volpe added an RBI double. Not great on the pitching side, but Rafael Montero and Dylan Coleman combined for 3.1 innings of perfect relief.”

Volpe has yet to make his season debut for the Yankees.

He came into the night batting .233 with 14 hits, one home run, seven RBI’s, ten runs and three stolen bases in 16 minor league games this year.

The Yankees wrote (via X) on May 3: “Following today’s game, the Yankees returned INF Anthony Volpe from his rehab assignment, reinstated him from the 10-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.”

Yankees fans will be keeping on eye on how Volpe does in the minors, as he has been their shortstop from 2023-25.

He won a Gold Glove Award in 2023 (and helped them reach the World Series in 2024).
