
As the New York Yankees are taking on the Boston Red Sox in a three-game set at Fenway Park, Anthony Volpe is completing his rehab assignment and trying to make his way back to the majors.
Earlier today, the Yankees reassigned Anthony Volpe: “Today, the Yankees transferred the rehab assignment of INF Anthony Volpe from Double-A Somerset to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.”

Anthony Volpe Hits Home Run in First Triple-A Game

In his first game with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Anthony Volpe hit a solo home run to give SWB Railriders a 6-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Anthony Volpe tore his labrum last season and had to undergo offseason surgery. Volpe is trying to work his way back to MLB after a disappointing 2025 season.
Over 153 games in 2025, Volpe hit .212 with 19 home runs, 72 RBI, but 150 strikeouts, and a 82 OPS+.

Anthony Volpe homering in his first rehab game with AAA should be a good sign for Yankees fans to welcome him back.

Anthony Volpe has spent three full seasons with the New York Yankees.
In 472 total games, he holds a .222 batting average with 52 home runs. 192 RBI, and a lifetime OPS of .662. The OPS mark is below average, but not terrible for a shortstop.
He’s still just 24-years-old, and has plenty of time to find his footing in MLB, it’s just a matter of how many changes he gets as the Yankees’ shortstop.
