Giants Announce Roster Move Before Mets Game

Before the game, the Giants announced that they had made a roster move by recalling a player from Triple-A.
The Giants wrote (via X): “The #SFGiants made the following roster moves:
– RHP Blade Tidwell (#46) recalled from Triple-A Sacramento.
– RHP José Buttó placed on the 15-day Injured List with right arm fatigue.”

Tidwell is coming off a season where he appeared in four games for the Mets.
He was picked in the second round of the 2022 MLB Draft.

MLB Social Media Reacts To Roster Move

Here’s what people were saying on social media:
Alex Pavlovic: “Jose Butto went on the IL with right forearm fatigue. Blade Tidwell is up to join the bullpen and could make his Giants debut against the team that traded him.”
@C2Cbsbl: “Interesting that Tidwell is the call for a bullpen opening, was assuming they would try and keep him stretched out In my mind, this is a role more fit for a guy like Carson Seymour, but they are rolling with Blade He definitely has the stuff to be a weapon in the pen”
@ProBaseVols: “Blade Tidwell heading back to the bigs!!”
Michael Monreal: “Blade Tidwell had an up and down spring. When he’s on, it’s loud, closer-type stuff. He joins the #SFGiants in San Francisco to welcome his former team, the New York Mets.”
@Orange_BlackPod: “That sucks for Butto. Tidwell revenge game incoming! #SFGiants”
