José Buttó: Breaking News

The Giants transferred Butto (arm) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday. Butto has already been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery Saturday to repair an artery in his arm, so moving to 60-day IL has no impact on his timeline. He'll cede his spot on the 40-man roster to Eric Haase, who was selected from Triple-A Sacramento to replace Daniel Susac (elbow) on the active roster.

Butto underwent surgery Saturday to repair an artery in his right arm, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Butto previously had a blood clot removed from his arm, and his latest procedure will require 5-to-6 months of rehab, meaning he won't be able to make it back before the end of the season. He'll end 2026 with five earned runs allowed over just two innings.

Butto will miss the next 2-4 months after undergoing surgery Saturday to remove a blood clot from his right arm, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Butto was diagnosed with a blood clot after leaving his appearance Wednesday against San Diego with arm fatigue. His timeline leaves room for him to return to the Giants' bullpen before the end of the season, though that likely won't happen until closer to the All-Star break.
