Spring training isn’t sneaking up this year. Major League Baseball is basically sprinting at you from both deserts and beaches at once. According to USA Today, the Cactus League in Arizona and the Grapefruit League in Florida will have almost every club on the field by mid‑February, with pitchers and catchers flooding in between Feb. 10–13 and full squads following by Feb. 15–17 as everyone races to get ready for a World Baseball Classic year.

MLB Spring Training 2026 Schedule: Pitchers and Catchers Report Dates

The Diamondbacks and Giants are among the early risers, with pitchers and catchers due Feb. 10 and first full‑squad workouts set for Feb. 15. The Red Sox and Rangers fall into that same “let’s get going” bucket, bringing batteries in by Feb. 10 and asking position players to report no later than Feb. 15.

The Rockies, Brewers, and Mariners are on the slightly slower track, asking arms in by Feb. 12 and position players by Feb. 17 as they set up shop in Scottsdale, Maryvale, and Peoria. The defending champion Dodgers are one of the last Cactus teams to throw an official bullpen, with MLB’s workout list putting their first pitchers-and-catchers session on Feb. 13 before the full squad reports to Glendale on Feb. 17.

On paper, that means there’s barely any breathing room between the end of football and the start of live bullpens in Arizona. MLB’s schedule release has Cactus League games starting on Feb. 20 — including early looks at contenders like the D‑backs, Padres, Royals, and Rangers — with a full slate across the valley the next day once every camp is fully up and running.

Grapefruit League 2026 Spring Training Schedule

Florida isn’t far behind. According to USA Today, the Red Sox and Braves are getting pitchers and catchers in as early as Feb. 10, then rolling into full workouts by Feb. 15 at their complexes in Fort Myers, Surprise (for Texas), and North Port.

The Yankees, Rays, Twins, and Guardians hug the back of the window, bringing batteries in on Feb. 12 and asking position players to report by Feb. 17 as they settle into Tampa, Port Charlotte, Fort Myers, and Goodyear for another Grapefruit grind.

While the daily schedule will shuffle a bit as TV slots and weather tighten things up, MLB’s spring calendar already has a clear circle around Feb. 21 — the first day when all 30 teams are scheduled to play across the Cactus and Grapefruit Leagues.

That’s when the spring really starts to feel real in Florida. We’ll have Yankees at Orioles in Sarasota, and the Red Sox breaking in prospects against college power Northeastern, on a day that tends to turn into a de facto open house for fans.

2026 Spring Training Starts Early

If it feels like these dates are creeping up the calendar, you’re not imagining it. This is a World Baseball Classic year, and MLB has quietly shifted the whole spring timetable forward a touch, so that WBC participants can report, ramp up, and then peel off to join their national teams.

League guidance says pitchers and catchers headed to the Classic must be in camp no later than Feb. 11, with position players due by Feb. 12, which is why that Feb. 10–13 band is so crowded for both Cactus and Grapefruit clubs.

By the time the first exhibition games roll on Feb. 20 — and the full, loaded slate hits on Feb. 21 — almost every camp in Arizona and Florida will already have a week of live work in the books.
