Max Scherzer’s wife Erica Scherzer has had a front row seat as the 41-year-old pitcher defies time while the Toronto Blue Jays compete in the World Series. On Monday, there is a bit of an overlap on the sports calendar as the Blue Jays compete against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series while Swift’s Kansas City Chiefs play on Monday Night Football.
All eyes in the Scherzer family will be on the Blue Jays and Dodgers game but Erica remains a big “Swiftie.”Well before the Blue Jays’ World Series run, Erica revealed her affinity for Taylor’s music.
“I never understood all the excitement until I took the girls to see Taylor last year in Tampa,” Erica noted in an October 19, 2024, Instagram post. “From that day on, our household has been full on Swifties.
“Last night in Miami was one heck of a show. We sang, danced, cheered, got soaking wet, squeezed in a quick little nap and made some amazing core memories. #taylorswifterastour”
If the Blue Jays are victorious in Game 3 of the World Series with Max taking the mound, it would not be a surprise if the Scherzers celebrated with a little music from the pop icon.

After the Blue Jays punched their ticket to the World Series by winning the ALCS over the Seattle Mariners, Erica took to Instagram to celebrate the big moment.
“There are no words, only pure gratitude! 💙,” Erica said in an October 22, 2025, message on Instagram while sharing a photo from Toronto’s ALCS celebration.

Heading into the MLB playoffs, Erica reflected on Max continuing his 18-year career. Max has accumulated 221 wins just in the regular season during his MLB tenure.
“Feeling so grateful we get to keep living this crazy baseball life after all these years. 💙,” Erica remarked in a September 29, Instagram post.
Max’s Wife Is Attempting to Shatter the Stereotypes of ‘Baseball Wives’

During a 2015 interview with The Washington Post, Erica opened up about some of the causes that the couple supports. Erica is doing her best to shatter the stereotypes that accompany being a pro athlete’s wife.
“I don’t know if it’s because of reality TV or the culture of celebrities, but there’s this awful awful stereotype that all baseball wives do is shop or cause drama or get their hair done,” Erica told The Washington Post’s Dan Steinberg. “In reality, we all want careers; we want to feel that we’re providing a value to society.
“It’s just logistically very hard, because now you’re choosing your career, or seeing your husband and supporting him.”
Max is a 2-time World Series champion, but the family is rooting for a third ring. Regardless, Max already has an MLB resume few players can even dream about, but Toronto is hoping that the legendary pitcher can help bring another World Series title to Canada.
