Ahead of their series with the Pirates, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reported that the Blue Jays are signing Eloy Jiménez to a Minor League deal.
He had been with the team earlier this season.
Bannon wrote: “Eloy Jiménez is returning to the #BlueJays on a minor-league deal, source tells @Ken_Rosenthal and I.
He hit .290 in 12 games with the Jays earlier this year, and elected FA.”
Jiménez spent the first five and a half seasons of his career playing for the Chicago White Sox.
In 2019 (as a rookie), he batted .267 with 31 home runs and 79 RBI’s.
Following the White Sox, Jiménez had a brief stint with the Baltimore Orioles (in 2024).

Over 546 career games, Jiménez is batting .269 with 537 hits, 95 home runs, 301 RBI’s, 235 runs and three stolen bases.
