Las Vegas Motor Speedway has long produced some of the most dominant drivers in modern NASCAR.

For years, the 1.5 mile Nevada track was closely associated with champions such as Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick, both of whom built some of the strongest records in track history there.

More recently, Joey Logano has added his name to that list with multiple victories at the speedway.

But in the past few seasons, another driver has steadily developed one of the most impressive records at Las Vegas.

Kyle Larson.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver has won three NASCAR Cup Series races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway since 2021, including two victories in the past three seasons. That stretch has quietly turned the Nevada oval into one of Larson’s strongest tracks on the schedule.

With the NASCAR Cup Series returning to Las Vegas this weekend, Larson once again enters the race as one of the drivers most capable of contending for the win.

Larson Has Delivered Some of His Biggest Las Vegas Moments in Recent Years

Larson’s success at Las Vegas Motor Speedway began during one of the most dominant seasons of his career.

In 2021, Larson captured the Pennzoil 400 while driving the No. 5 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports. The victory was one of ten wins Larson earned that season on his way to the NASCAR Cup Series championship.

Since then, Las Vegas has continued to produce strong results for the California native.

Larson returned to Victory Lane during the 2023 South Point 400, the playoff race at the track. The win helped him advance deeper into the NASCAR postseason.

He added another victory at the speedway the following year, winning the 2024 Pennzoil 400.

Larson’s Las Vegas wins include:

  • 2021 Pennzoil 400
  • 2023 South Point 400
  • 2024 Pennzoil 400

Those victories have moved Larson into a tie for the third most NASCAR Cup Series wins in the history of the track.

The Track’s Racing Style Often Plays to Larson’s Strengths

Las Vegas Motor Speedway has long rewarded drivers who are comfortable searching for speed across multiple racing lanes.

The wide racing surface allows drivers to move around the track and carry momentum through the corners while exploring different lines.

Few drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series are more comfortable racing that way than Larson.

Throughout his career, Larson has built a reputation for thriving on intermediate tracks where drivers can maintain speed through the turns and adapt to changing track conditions.

Las Vegas frequently produces exactly that type of racing.

With two Cup Series races now held at the speedway each season, including a playoff event that can shape the championship battle, strong performances at Las Vegas have become increasingly important.

Larson has already proven he can win there in both the regular season and the playoffs, which is one reason he remains a driver to watch whenever NASCAR returns to Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
