
On Sunday, the Golden State Warriors will face off against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
The Warriors most recently lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves (at home) by a score of 127-117.
Kristaps Porzingis finished the loss with 20 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block while shooting 7/16 from the field and 2/5 from three-point range in 22 minutes of playing time.

For Sunday’s game, the Warriors have announced that they will be without Porzingis.
Underdog NBA wrote: “Kristaps Porzingis (illness management) listed out for Sunday.”
Knicks fans will likely be upset with the news, as Porzingis had spent the first part of his career in New York.
He made the 2018 NBA All-Star Game (in his third season).

Porzingis started out the year with the Hawks before a trade sent him to Golden State.
He is currently averaging 16.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 blocks per contest while shooting 45.0% from the field and 35.2% from three-point range in 21 games for the two teams.
NBA Philippines wrote (on Friday night): “Kristaps Porzingis’ one-legged fadeaway is one of the most unguardable shots in the league 🦄”

In addition to the Warriors, Hawks and Knicks, the 11-year veteran has also had stints with the Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics.
When he’s been healthy, Porzingis is one of the best 50 players in the league.
He helped lead the Celtics to the 2024 title over the Mavs.
ESPN’s Shams Charania wrote (on February 4): “The Golden State Warriors are trading Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield to the Atlanta Hawks for Kristaps Porzingis, sources tell ESPN.”

The Warriors come into their matchup with the Knicks in the middle of a four-game losing skid.
They are the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 32-34 record.
