Milwaukee Bucks Make Giannis Antetokounmpo Announcement Before 76ers Game

On Sunday, the Milwaukee Bucks will be at the Wells Fargo Center to play the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Bucks are coming off a 125-108 win over the Brooklyn Nets.

Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play in the game.

Bucks Make Antetokounmpo Announcement

For Sunday’s season finale, the Bucks have announced that Antetokounmpo will remain out of action.

The Bucks wrote (via X): “Injury Report – April 12 at Philadelphia

Out: Giannis Antetokounmpo (Left Knee Hyperextension; Bone Bruise) Kyle Kuzma (Right Achilles Tendonopathy) Kevin Porter Jr. (Right Knee Surgery) Bobby Portis Jr. (Left Wrist Sprain) Ryan Rollins (Right Thumb Sprain) Gary Trent Jr. (Internal Oblique Muscle Strain) Myles Turner (Left Ankle Sprain)

Antetokounmpo finished the 2026 regular season with averages of 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists per contest while shooting 62.4% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range in 36 games.

He has played 13 seasons in the NBA (all with Milwaukee).

Bucks This Season

The Bucks had a very tough year where they are the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 32-49 record in 81 games.

They have won three out of their last ten games (and are 13-27 on the road).

NBA on ESPN wrote (on April 9): “With one more game remaining on their schedule Sunday, Giannis will head into the offseason with one guaranteed year remaining on his contract before a player option in 2027.”

The Bucks have been unable to make a deep run in the NBA playoffs since winning the title in 2021.

They will miss the playoffs this year, and have lost in the first round of the playoffs in each of the last two seasons.

76ers Ahead Of Bucks

The 76ers are the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 44-37 record in 81 games.

They have won five out of their last ten games (and are 22-18 at home).

Last season, the 76ers missed the NBA playoffs.
