Giannis Antetokounmpo will officially be out of the Milwaukee Bucks vs Atlanta Hawks game on Saturday.

Antetokounmpo was originally listed as questionable for the game, but he has now been ruled out with a left ankle sprain, as the team recently announced.

Antetokounmpo has missed time with several injuries this season, and the recent ankle sprain has been an issue the Bucks hope to keep under control for the rest of the year.

Bucks Injury Report vs Hawks

Along with the news of Antetokounmpo being out, Milwaukee has a few other players listed on the team’s injury report.

Alex Antetokounmpo (two-way contract), Cormac Ryan (two-way contract), and Ousmane Dieng (illness) will each also miss the game. Kevin Porter Jr. has been upgraded to available for the contest against Atlanta.

As for the Hawks, they have Jonathan Kuminga (knee) and Asa Newell (G-League) out for the game, but RayJ Dennis is available.

Bucks This Season Amid Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Rumors

Milwaukee has lost seven of its last eight games. While there was previous hope that the team would make a run to the playoffs after they got Antetokounmpo back from his second calf strain of the season, so far, that hasn’t been the case.

The Bucks are currently 27-38 and sit 11th in the Eastern Conference standings, both outside the playoff and play-in tournament picture.

As their struggles continue, trade rumors surrounding Antetokounmpo have only heated up. While he re-committed to the team at the trade deadline, stating he would never ask to be moved from the team, the two-time Finals MVP remains linked to several teams, including the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers.

A few months ago, there were also rumors about the Hawks being interested in the Greek superstar; however, that speculation can now be put to bed, according to a new report.

“According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, the Hawks havealways viewed the notionof trading forward Jalen Johnson as part of a package for Antetokounmpo as anon-starter,’ Mike Chiari of Bleacher Report wrote.Fischer noted that the Hawks are anaturaltrade partner for Giannis since they could own the Bucks’ 2026 and 2027 first-round picks depending on what conditions are met.”

Despite the level of interest Atlanta had in Antetokounmpo previously, the team does not appear willing to move Johnson, their new star, for the 2021 Finals MVP.

In 59 games this season, Johnson is averaging 22.9 points, 10.4 rebounds, and eight assists, while a consistent triple-double threat in what has been a breakout year for the 24-year-old.

As for Antetokounmpo, who is set to miss the game against the Hawks, he is averaging 27.5 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 5.4 assists on 62.8% shooting in 35 games, as his 2025-26 campaign has been marred by injuries and trade rumors.

Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee is by no means set in stone, and most recently, he was linked to the Warriors in trade rumors, according to NBA insider Marc Spears.

“Steph knows that they’re gonna try to do everything in their power to get somebody big,Spears said on the Willard and Dibs radio show. It’s interesting we’re in [Splash] because I went to Steph Curry’s All-Star party. There was only one non-Warrior that came: Giannis.”

“Giannis came. And I thought that was interesting that Giannis would come because he’s not a guy that shakes hands, kiss babies, like camaraderie,Let’s go to dinner the night before (the All-Star Game),and Giannis came to the party, and hung out…That tells me he and Steph have a relationship.”

For now, Antetokounmpo remains on the Bucks, but trade rumors surrounding the star will only continue until he either asks to be moved or signs a new deal in Milwaukee.
