After winning a championship with the New York Knicks, Josh Hart could soon have extension talks with the organization.
Heading into his 10th year in the league, Hart hasn’t developed into an All-Star-level talent, but he’s proven to be extremely valuable.
Unlike a player like Karl-Anthony Towns, Hart won’t be demanding a max extension from the Knicks–or somebody else. However, he is predicted to land a generous offer.

Two anonymous league sources gave The Athletic’s James Edwards an estimate of what Hart could land soon.
One hypothetical deal is a three-year deal between $54 and $62 million. Another projection lands in the three-year, $60-$62 million range.

Currently, Hart is in the midst of a four-year, $80.9 million extension. In 2026-2027, Hart is making $20.9 million. The Knicks have a $22.3 million team option for the 2027-2028 season.
With Hart currently set to see free agency as a 33-year-old in 2028, the forward’s camp likely knows that he would be valued by other teams across the league. The sharpshooter will get his desired deal, it’s just up to the Knicks to decide whether they want to be the ones to fork it over to him or not.
So far, there haven’t been any signs of Hart leaving.
