Melina Savard is the girlfriend of Oklahoma City Thunder star Luguentz Dort.
Dort and Savard caught the eyes of Thunder fans earlier this year. They all wondered who Dort’s mystery girlfriend was after he confirmed their relationship on Instagram.
Here is everything you need to know about Lu Dort’s girlfriend, Melina Savard.
1. Dort and Savard are Both Haitian-Canadian
Lu Dort’s identity as a Haitian-Canadian basketball player has always been at the center of how he expresses himself to fans and fellow players.
Dort proudly displays both the Haitian and Canadian flags in his Instagram bio, uses French in his social media captions, and shouts out Montreal where he grew up.
Famously, Dort grew up as childhood friends with Indiana Pacers star Bennedict Mathurin in Montreal, Quebec, who is also Haitian-Canadian. Dort and Mathurin are currently facing off in the 2025 NBA finals.
As it turns out, Dort also shares that core part of his identity with Savard. She is also from Montreal and proudly displays the Haitian and Canadian flags in her Instagram bio, while using French in her Instagram replies.
It’s unclear if Savard grew up with Dort (and Mathurin) but given that all of those factors match up, it seems highly likely!
2. They Have Been Connected Since 2021
Dort didn’t publicly acknowledge that he was in a relationship with Savard until she showed up on his Facebook on Christmas Day in 2023.
But a quick trip through Savard’s Instagram story highlights makes it seem as though they have been connected for even longer than that.
Savard was posting Instagram stories from Thunder games as early as November 2021.
While it’s possible that Savard just happened to be a big Thunder fan, that seems unlikely given that she is from Montreal.
Have Savard and Dort been together for several years already, or did they meet after she started sitting near the court at Thunder games. The former is most likely true, but officially, it remains a mystery.
3. Savard is a Health, Wellness and Fitness Influencer
Savard is passionate about staying healthy and fit. All across her Instagram, she has posted stories and reels containing healthy meals, supplements and moments from her workouts.
She also was a personal trainer for a time, offering to devise workout plans for clients. According to her LinkedIn, she worked at Econoplex in Montreal in the early 2020s.
She also posted a TikTok (the only one on her page) about healing her chronic urticaria naturally.
It’s safe to assume her and Dort enjoy swapping tips about health and fitness.
4. Savard is Pregnant with the Couple’s First Child
On Valentines Day, February 14, 2025, Dort and Savard posted a pregnancy photoshoot, confirming the couple’s relationship for the first time.
Players from across the NBA, including Mathurin, were overjoyed to congratulate Dort and Savard on expecting a new member of the family.
Dort and Savard have kept details about the due date under wraps. But announcement of the child’s birth is sure to come any day now, and Thunder fans are anxiously awaiting a peek at Dort and Savard’s mini-me.
5. Savard is Interested in Film and TV
Back in 2020, Savard posted stories on Instagram that seemed to suggest she was part of the production of a television show.
In one photo, she posted a guest badge for the company TVA, a French Language television network in Canada, with the caption “Tournage”, which means filming in French.
Alongside that post, Savard shared a story on set of the second season of the show “Rue King” (2020), which is available on the steaming service TVA+.
Heavy Sports was unable to confirm if Savard auditioned for, appeared in or worked on the production of the show, but subscribers to TVA+ should keep an eye out for a cameo appearance from her if they watch back season 2 of the show.
Her day on set seemed to go well, as she posted in May 2021 another TVA visitor badge with the caption “wish me luck”.
Savard also seems to be a big Marvel fan; she has posted Instagram stories of her watching the marvel films “Avengers: Endgame” (2019) and “Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” (2021) on Disney+.
Dort hopes for a cinematic ending to his own 2025 NBA season, where the Thunder are two wins away from their first NBA Finals championship in franchise history.
