Following a recent loss, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid revealed that he is dealing with an illness.
In the 119-109 loss against the Miami Heat, Embiid played and managed to check in for 34 minutes.
The star center shot 10-25 from the field, 2-6 from three, and 4-5 from the free-throw line. He scored 26 points while producing seven rebounds, three assists, and one block. Embiid finished the game with a minus-18.

Here’s what the star center said following the loss, evaluating his performance:
“Terrible. Well, first, I wish I wasn’t sick, So, maybe that would have helped to play better. So, physically, I just was not in it, and then secondly, obviously, if the first part was better, then I guess I would have had more energy to do all the things. So yeah, just gotta take off myself and get out of it and play better.” via Sixers Wire
76ers Announce Joel Embiid’s Status After Concerning Reveal

*UPDATE at 11:15 AM ET: Joel Embiid has been downgraded to OUT vs Wizards
Although Embiid admitted he was dealing with an illness, that doesn’t mean the Sixers’ center is headed towards a night off.
When the Sixers’ official injury report was revealed on Tuesday, March 31, Embiid was not listed against the Washington Wizards. While the report can change over time, the initial status for Embiid is available.
Recently, Embiid returned to the court after a long stretch of absences. He’s had three different setbacks since early February.

Before the All-Star break, Embiid was missing games due to knee soreness. After the break, shin soreness played a part in his delayed return as well. After five absences, Embiid returned for a two-game stretch in late February.
During the Sixers’ February 26 win against the Heat, Embiid suffered an oblique strain. He missed the next 13 games for the Sixers. Embiid was back on the court for their March 25 game against the Chicago Bulls. He’s set to make four appearances in a row on Wednesday.
The Sixers are searching for their 42nd win on Wednesday. They are currently seventh in the Eastern Conference, trailing the Toronto Raptors by 1.0 games.
The Sixers-Wizards game is set for a 7 PM ET tip.
