On Saturday afternoon, the Philadelphia 76ers are playing the Brooklyn Nets at the Wells Fargo Center.
Joel Embiid was ruled out for the game (and his eighth straight).
The 2023 MVP is averaging 26.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 49.5% from the field and 31.8% from three-point range in 33 games.

Before Saturday’s game, the 76ers have announced an update on Embiid.
Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice wrote: “Nick Nurse says Joel Embiid got back on the court yesterday and had an individual workout. Doesn’t “want to anticipate anything” regarding a return timeline, but says Embiid returning during the upcoming road trip is a possibility.”

Embiid was the third pick in the 2014 NBA Draft out of Kansas.
He has spent his entire career with the 76ers (and made seven All-Star Games).
That said, the franchise has been unable to reach the Eastern Conference finals during his tenure.
His career averages are 27.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.6 blocks per contest while shooting 50.1% from the field and 33.8% from three-point range in 485 games.

The 76ers are coming off a year where they missed the 2025 NBA playoffs.
They are currently the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 35-31 record in 66 games.
Over their last ten games, the 76ers have gone 5-5 (and they are 18-16 at home).
Following the Nets, they will play their next game on Sunday when they remain at home to host Scoot Henderson and the Portland Trail Blazers.
