The last 24 hours for the Baltimore Ravens have been a whirlwind. After the Ravens backed out of the trade for Maxx Crosby with the Las Vegas Raiders, Crosby is reportedly ready for a monster 2026 season.

Nonetheless, Crosby is still a Las Vegas Raider. Although many are unsure where Crosby and the Raiders stand, Maxx Crosby will use this move by the Ravens as motivation.

“Regardless of which uniform he wears in 2026, one source texted, ‘Maxx is going to be a monster this year as an F you to Baltimore.'” Dianna Russini wrote on her official X account.

Why Did The Ravens Back Out of the Trade?

“The Baltimore Ravens have backed out of our trade agreement for Maxx Crosby. We have no further comment at this time,” the Raiders said in a statement.

The Ravens offered two first round picks to acquire Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders. According to multiple reports, Maxx Crosby did not pass his physical in Baltimore which led the Ravens to back out of the trade.

“Crosby has been in Baltimore for the past couple of days in anticipation of the deal becoming finalized at 4 pm tomorrow. Now, there will be no deal and the Ravens, who have already lost nine UFAs while signing one, are in an even bigger hole.” Jeff Zrebiec wrote on his official X account.

On March 9, Crosby shared a photo of himself on in a Ravens jersey with the caption, “RAVENS FLOCK…. ITS TIME.” In addition, Crosby also posted a farewell to the Raiders on his Instagram account which he later deleted.

Nonetheless, Crosby’s reported message to the Ravens after they backed out will draw much attention considering the pass rusher could be traded anywhere. Maxx Crosby is a five-time Pro Bowler and a 2-time second team All-Pro. He has established himself as one of the best run-stuffers in the NFL. The former All-Pro recorded 10 sacks last year.

Ravens Had Contingency Plan After Crosby Trade Fell Through

In a shocking move–not even 24 hours after backing out of the Maxx Crosby trade–the Baltimore Ravens signed Trey Hendrickson to four-year $120 Million deal. Hendrickson was an All-Pro pass rusher for the Cincinnati Bengals since 2021.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Trey Hendrickson’s four-year deal is worth up to $120 million and includes $60 million fully guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus.

“For 8, 10, 12 and 14 sacks per season, he also gets an additional $500,000 for each threshold he meets.” Schefter wrote on X.

Trey Hendrickson was arguably the best player available in this year’s free agency class.

According to an ESPN article, he ranks second in overall pressure rate (13.2%), according to ESPN Research, and has 61 sacks, the fourth-highest total. Hendrickson was a third-round selection by the New Orleans Saints in 2017 and has 81 sacks in nine NFL seasons.

After leaving many Ravens fans heartbroken after the Crosby trade fell through, Baltimore receives a great contingency plan on a great deal. The Baltimore Ravens still have access to their first-round picks in 2026 and 2027. Baltimore Ravens fans around the world can now rejoice again because they have their pass rusher they so desperately need.
