In about six weeks, the Buffalo Bills will be kicking off their 2025 regular season at home on Sunday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens.

The last time the Bills hosted a home game was against the Ravens, but it was in the AFC Divisional Round, and Buffalo brought home the victory in a thriller.

The following week, the Bills lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC title game. Both the Buffalo Bills and the Baltimore Ravens have been unable to reach the Super Bowl in recent years, and they would like to change that this season.

Buffalo And Baltimore Have A Lot In Common

A few things the Bills and Ravens have in common are great quarterbacks. Baltimore has two-time NFL Most Valuable Player of the Year winner Lamar Jackson, while the Bills have Josh Allen, who won his first NFL MVP six months ago.

Jackson and Allen are viewed as two Top-5 NFL quarterbacks, but they can’t do it all by themselves.

Another position group where the Bills and Ravens have a lot of common is in the offensive backfield.

Last season, Baltimore signed former Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry, and all he did was rush for 1,921 yards and 16 scores.

The addition of Henry was one of the reasons why the Ravens were one of the best teams in the NFL last season.

If it weren’t for the Philadelphia Eagles’ signing running back Saquon Barkley last offseason, the Ravens’ move to bring in Henry would have been the best free agent signing of the 2024 campaign.

The Bills also have a great running back in James Cook, who rushed 1,009 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2024.

Cook’s name has been in the news a lot this offseason with his contract coming to an end after this season.

Right now, the former Georgia star doesn’t have a new deal for next season, and there hasn’t been much talk that he will be getting a new contract.

It could be the last season Cook plays in Orchard Park, but even if it is, he could go out on top with a Super Bowl ring.

Bills’ Offensive Backfield Labeled Strength of Their Roster

Cook must have a big season if Buffalo is going to win the Super Bowl, and Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine thinks the Bills’ offensive backfield is the strength of their roster.

“There’s no team in the league that puts more on its quarterback than the Bills put on Josh Allen. Fortunately for Buffalo, he’s more than capable of handling it,” Ballentine wrote. “Allen won the 2024 MVP in a season when he was tied with Lamar Jackson for the top Total QBR in the league, and that was despite an offensive line that gave him the 32nd-ranked protection rate, per PlayerProfiler. James Cook’s emergence over the last two seasons has taken the Bills’ backfield to the next level. The recent news that he is showing up to training camp amid contract negotiations is a great sign for the team.”

Buffalo should be thankful that Cook hasn’t decided to hold out this season since he doesn’t have a new deal.

Hopefully, Cook can help the Bills win the Super Bowl and then get the money he deserves in free agency next year.
