It was a rough year for Jerry Jeudy but the Cleveland Browns wide receiver plans to bounce back after a season of “learning.”
Jeudy finished the season with just 50 catches for 602 yards and two touchdowns. It was half the production he put up during his debut season with the Browns when he recorded a career-high 1,229 yards and four touchdowns, earning a Pro Bowl nod.
Jeudy expressed frustration during various points in the season, including a high-profile sideline clash with quarterback Shedeur Sanders. But with the season now over, Jeudy issued a reflective message on the season.
“Some seasons teach more than they give. Thankful for the growth. Locked in for what’s ahead,” Jeudy said in the post.
The message comes after Jeudy issued a cryptic statement following the team’s finale.
“Y’all just don’t know and it’s so funny to me,” Jeudy said.
Jeudy signed a three-year, $58 million extension shortly after the Browns acquired him in 2024, locking him in through the 2027 season. While he entered the year projected as Cleveland’s top receiving option, that role never fully materialized. As a result, the Browns are expected to pursue upgrades at wide receiver this offseason, both in the draft and in free agency, as they look to bolster the pass-catching group around their next quarterback.
Browns Projected to Target Arizona State Standout With Top Pick
The Browns will hold the No. 6 overall pick in the draft. That will likely leave them out of range to select one of the top quarterbacks, which could lead them to address wide receiver early. Jordan Reid of ESPN has the Browns taking Arizona State standout Jordyn Tyson.
“Unless they want to package their two first-round picks to move up, the Browns won’t be able to pick a quarterback. But they do need pass catchers to join breakout rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. and veteran wide receiver Jerry Jeudy,” Reid said. “Tyson is a creative route runner who can make catches outside the strike zone with his strong hands at the catch point. He’s also capable of making big plays after the catch. Durability will be the main thing to watch with Tyson during the predraft process, as he has been derailed by nagging injuries in each of the past two seasons, missing three games in 2025 because of a hamstring injury.”
The Browns do have some other pieces to work with in the passing game. Rookie Isaiah Bond showed flashes of potential and tight end Harold Fannin led Cleveland in all major receiving categories. Cedric Tillman, a third-round pick in 2023, is coming off a disappointing year but has one season left on his deal.
Browns Planning ‘Investment’ on Offense
The Browns limped to a 5-12 finish despite fielding one of the league’s top defenses, a disconnect that general manager Andrew Berry acknowledged will shape the franchise’s offseason priorities. Speaking at his end-of-season press conference, Berry made it clear the offensive side of the ball is due for a major overhaul.
“I think there’s a lot of work that we still need to do on the offense from a personnel standpoint,” Berry said. “I think that we have a number of players that will continue to be pillars and are players that we’ll continue to develop and invest in. But the offense is going to have significant investment this offseason.”
Beyond a head-coaching hire, the most pressing question centers on quarterback and specifically how the organization views Sanders moving forward. Dillon Gabriel and Deshaun Watson are also under contract for next season.
