Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was the victim of a terrifying home invasion in Texas while he was away at training camp with his team in Oxnard, California.
“The Fairview home of Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was burglarized on July 30, and property worth over $300,000 was taken from the residence, according to Fairview Police Department records obtained by the Star-Telegram,” The Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Nick Harris wrote on August 22. “Lamb was at the team’s training camp in Oxnard, Calif., when the burglary occurred … Lamb, 27, had four luxury bags stolen from his home, as the burglar entered through a broken window on the property. An individual working on a renovation to the northeast side of Lamb’s property noticed the broken window on July 31 and called 9-1-1 after inspecting that the home had been tampered.”
The Cowboys have been away at training camp since the end of July and didn’t return home until Sunday morning.
Lamb, 27, has been a 5-time Pro Bowler and 2-time NFL All-Pro in his 1st 6 seasons since the Cowboys selected him in the 1st round (No. 17 overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s also 1 of the NFL’s highest-paid players after signing a 4-year, $136 million contract extension before the 2024 season.
The Cowboys defeated the Arizona Cardinals, 34-13, in the 2nd of 3 preseason games on Saturday night in Glendale, Arizona.
NFL Stars Targets of Home Invasions
Authorities indicated there are currently no suspects in the break-in and robbery of Lamb’s home — a crime that continues a troubling pattern of NFL stars having their homes broken into while they’re away doing their jobs.
Most notably, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce have had their homes broken into, as have Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
In July, Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley’s home was the target of a robbery.
Cowboys defensive tackle Linval Joseph was the victim of a home invasion in Sunfish Lake, Minnesota, in November 2024.
CeeDee Lamb Called Out Over Nightclub Video
Lamb found himself at the center of some unexpected controversy in March after a video surfaced of him drinking, dancing, and otherwise seeming to have a wonderful time at the OMNIA Nightclub in Las Vegas.
“Oh Boy: Cowboys star WR CeeDee Lamb was caught clubbing at a nightclub in Las Vegas this past weekend,” NFL influencer Dov Kleiman wrote on his official X account with the video of Lamb attached. “Lamb has received immense backlash for this, as most of his peers are already back in the gym training.”
Cowboys fans and other NFL fans jumped to Lamb’s defense.
“To be fair, I don’t think anybody on this team is going to put in more offseason work than CeeDee Lamb … ” Law Nation Sports wrote on X. “Let’s stop dehumanizing these NFL players. Let them LIVE!!!!!”
“Not letting them do it,” Boss Cowboy Sports wrote on X. “I was told by some of the best trainers, ‘the best thing players need to do after the season is ………… nothing.’ Let that body recover naturally and then hit the offseason hard. The players are men. They will drank and have a good time. Chill.”
“Don’t let these accounts shed negative light on Athletes enjoying their free time,” Cowboys fan Stephen Mac wrote on X. “I’d hate to see what the owners of these accounts do in theirs… I REFUSE to let our athletes be subject to such slander for simply being human!”
