The Dallas Cowbows have been waiting on injury news about CeeDee Lamb, and things seem to keep getting worse, according to reports.

The Dallas Cowboys are “America’s Team,” and that comes with high expectations. The Cowboys are expected to win, and win big, most of the time, so the pressure is always on this team to deliver.

This season, that pressure falls on new Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer, longstanding quarterback Dak Prescott and star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. Without these three key pieces of the Cowboys in place, it could make for a long season.

Now, the Cowboys are coming off a loss to the Chicago Bears with their new coach, Ben Johnson, and 2-1. They want to turn things around, and they have the talent to do so, but they have to stay healthy. That’s where some bad news on Lamb comes into play, because if the Cowboys want to succeed, they have to keep Lamb healthy for as many games as possible.

CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys Injury News

The Dallas Cowboys‘ next game is against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, September 28, at home. Both of these teams are coming off a loss, so both will be hungry to win.

But, the Cowboys appear that they’ll be without Lamb for at least that game. Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb suffered a high ankle sprain during Sunday’s loss to the Bears that makes him unlikely to play Sunday night vs. the Packers, per sources,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared on X on Monday, September 22. The Cowboys want to see how Lamb is doing the next 10-14 days before making further determinations about his status.

So, Lamb is likely going to miss the Packers game, but it doesn’t stop there. Pro Bowl wide receiver CeeDee Lamb could miss 3-4 weeks with a high left ankle sprain suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Chicago Bears, according to a source,” added Todd Archer of ESPN in a post not long after Schefter’s went up.

So, Lamb could be out for an entire month, which is not good news for the Cowboys. Hopefully the injury isn’t as serious as it appears.

CeeDee Lamb is One of the Best

Whenever he’s healthy again, there’s no denying that Lamb is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. Before the season started, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN released the outlet’s annual tally of the best wide receivers of the year. “ESPN surveyed league executives, coaches and scouts to help us rank the top 10 players at 11 different positions, from quarterback to cornerback and all positions in between,” he noted. “This was the sixth edition of these rankings, and as usual, several players moved up or fell off last year’s lists.”

Lamb came in at No. 4 on the tally, with Fowler saying, “Lamb has checked many boxes required by an elite receiver. He had a banner season in 2023, with 135 receptions (league-high), 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. He has had no true down years. He’s a perennial All-Pro first- or second-teamer. And he can produce through adversity, including multiple injuries to Dak Prescott and a bad running game.

So, let’s get Lamb back where he belongs, on the field, as soon as possible. If not for the Packers, hopefully he’ll make a return sooner than a month.
