The Dallas Cowboys made a late addition to their roster on Monday when they signed undrafted rookie offensive lineman D.J. Wingfield, who is listed as a reserve at the center position on the team’s depth chart for the moment.

However, his addition necessarily meant that the team would be forced to let go of another player in exchange, and the Cowboys have designated said player to be fellow undrafted free agent offensive lineman Sidney Fugar, who was signed to the 90-man roster less than a week ago, per Todd Archer of ESPN.

Cowboys Waive Offensive Lineman Sidney Fugar

“With the Cowboys adding undrafted OL D.J. Wingfield to the roster, they have waived undrafted G Sidney Fugar. With Dayo Odeleye counting as an international player, they will have one roster spot open on the 91-man roster.” Archer posted on X on Tuesday May 5.

Fugar spent time at three different schools over the course of his college career. He started off a redshirt freshman at Western Illnois, where he was the starting left tackle before transferring to South Carolina where he played on both bookends of the line, starting 4 and playing in 10 games as a redshirt sophomore.

Subsequently the 6’5, 343 lb behemoth moved to Baylor University, where he played in 24 total games over the course of the next two seasons, starting 15.

In his redshirt junior year, Fugar started the year as a backup left guard before being moved to the exterior as the starting left tackle.
