The New York Jets have added another former Detroit Lions player. This time, Aaron Glenn and the Jets signed an ex-Lions offensive contributor.
The Jets announced Thursday they signed veteran wide receiver Tim Patrick. In a corresponding move, New York released kicker Will Ferrin.
Patrick spent one season in Detroit, which was Glenn’s final campaign with the Lions. In 2024, Patrick caught 33 passes for 394 yards with three touchdowns. He received credit for starting nine games that season.
Last year, Patrick appeared in 16 games, starting three of them, for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had 15 receptions, 187 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
In New York, Patrick has a previous connection with Glenn, who has made a habit of signing former Lions players, and former Denver Broncos executive Darren Mougey.
“General manager Darren Mougey was in Denver when Patrick (32) started his professional career,” wrote Newyorkjets.com’s Eric Allen. “The Utah product, who went undrafted in 2017, signed with the Broncos and played four seasons in Denver.”
Patrick spent six years with the Denver Broncos before signing with the Lions.
