Jaguars Mocked With Josh Allen Post After Loss

Jacksonville Jaguars
NFL on Fox mocked the Jaguars following their loss to the Bills

The Jacksonville Jaguars season has officially come to an end after a heartbreaking 27-24 loss to the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Round. The Jaguars took a 24-20 lead with 4:03 remaining in the fourth quarter after a Travis Etienne 14-yard receiving touchdown. However, the Bills drove down the field and regained the lead with less than two minutes remaining.

With a chance to tie the game, Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw an interception on the first play of their ensuing drive. With no timeouts remaining, the Bills were able to run down the clock and end Jacksonville’s season. The Jaguars’ eight-game winning streak came to an end, while Buffalo’s eight-game postseason road-game losing streak was snapped.

Jaguars Mocked by Fox Sports

Following the game, the Jaguars were mocked on Fox Sports’ official Instagram as they posted an edit of Josh Allen wearing grills. The caption read, “The MVP spoils Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars’ day in Jacksonville.”

Earlier this year, an AI edit of Trevor Lawrence wearing grills and calling him “Steezy Trev” had gone viral, so much so that Lawrence posted the edit on social media. Additionally, the Jaguars team signed a fan’s poster featuring the edit. Following the Jaguars’ win over the Titans in Week 18, Trevor Lawrence turned the meme into reality as he wore grills in their post-game celebration.

Unfortunately, following the loss, ‘Steezy Trev’s’ season has come to an end, and what seemed like a fun moment has now been turned into ridicule for Jacksonville. For Trevor Lawrence, the season was likely bittersweet. He threw for a career-high 29 touchdowns and had the most regular season wins of his career. However, his last play of the season resulted in an interception and a first-round exit for the Jaguars.

Jacksonville Jaguars’ Offseason Outlook

After trading their first-round pick during the 2024 NFL Draft, the Jaguars will not have a first-round selection in the upcoming draft. However, the team will likely have the wide receiver and cornerback available for the 2026 season. The dual-threat weapon finished with nearly 300 receiving yards in seven games while also playing 162 snaps on defense.

When asked about Hunter’s role moving forward, head coach Liam Coen said it would be “very premature” to make a decision that would end his two-way role. Despite primarily playing wide receiver, Hunter may be best served to help the team defensively going forward. After his injury, the Jaguars traded for receiver Jakobi Meyers, who then signed an extension with the team. Additionally, third-year player Parker Washington became one of the team’s top contributors on offense down the stretch. What once seemed to be a weak spot for the Jaguars is now a strength.

The Jaguars will also have to make a decision on running back Travis Etienne. The running back had a bounce-back season as he ran for over 1,000 yards for the third time in his career. He’s set to be a free agent following the season after playing this year on his fifth-year option.
