For the first time in several years, the Kansas City Chiefs are entering the unknown heading into a season.
They will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 6-11 record in 2025. The Chiefs simply ran out of steam, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes tearing the ACL and LCL in his left knee was the capper on a sad season.
However, they have rebuilt a large portion of their roster with young, athletic talent, and Mahomes appears to be on track to play in Week 1. Let’s jump right in to Kansas City’s 2026 slate of games, set with dates and times.

Biggest Takeaways From Chiefs’ 2026 Schedule
- Week 5 bye week: This is a bummer. Week 5 is very early to have a bye. Kansas City has a lot of challenging games during the final month of the season, and could be running on fumes if they make the playoffs. Injuries also become a higher concern when having to play 13 games in a row.
- Weeks 1 and 2: The Chiefs not only get to play each of their first two games of the season at home, but in primetime. That is a very unique and luxurious opportunity. The Broncos and Colts don’t figure to be pushovers, but they face an uphill battle coming to Arrowhead Stadium under the lights so early in the year.
- 3 consecutive road games: From Weeks 12-14, Kansas City will play on the road against teams that all project to be in the postseason mix. Two of those games are on Thursdays, with the matchup against Buffalo coming on a short week on Thanksgiving Day. The Chiefs will get some extended time off heading into Cincinnati.
Chiefs’ 2026 Revenge Games

- Weeks 1/8 vs. Broncos: The Chiefs were swept by the Broncos in 2025 for the first time in 11 years. Denver would go on to win the AFC West, snapping Kansas City’s streak of nine consecutive division titles.
- Weeks 6/17 vs. Chargers: The Chiefs also got swept by the Chargers last season. Their Week 15 matchup at Arrowhead is when Mahomes sustained his knee injury.
- Week 7 at Seahawks: This will be a revenge game for new Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III, who signed with Kansas City during the offseason. Walker will likely be motivated to face his former team after they elected to let him walk in free agency.
- Week 12 at Bills: Although the Chiefs own Buffalo during the postseason, the Bills have dominated the regular season series by beating K.C. each of the last five years. It would be nice for the Chiefs to break that streak, especially with the game being on Thanksgiving Night.
