Patrick Mahomes had nothing but positive things to say about wife, Brittany Mahomes, after she turned a Kansas City snowstorm into a creative family project.

As the city remained buried under heavy snowfall, Brittany kept their three children — Sterling, Bronze, and Golden Raye — busy with a colorful backyard igloo build that quickly caught attention on social media. Patrick didn’t hesitate to praise her effort, calling Brittany the “Best mom out there!!” in the comments before resharing the video to his Instagram Stories.

In the video Brittany shared, she is seen carrying Golden while hauling packages of aluminum trays into the home’s foyer. The clip then cuts to trays of dyed water set outside in the snow, with several kids stirring the colors.

As more trays appeared, one viewer commented, “I wasn’t ready for the sheer amount of trays.”

Brittany explained that the project took days, not hours. After letting the trays freeze for five days, she refilled them with water and refroze them before the family began assembling the multicolored igloo.

“Just a couple rookies trying to show you the whole process of how to build an igloo…😂😅 would say we will do better next time but there will never be a next time,” Brittany wrote in the caption.

The finished structure seemed to be a neighborhood effort, with multiple moms and kids helping along the way. The final shot showed Sterling and Bronze bundled up inside their new snow playhouse.

Patrick responded simply but enthusiastically.

“Best mom out there!!” he wrote, adding two heart emojis.

Patrick Mahomes Recovering From Injury as Family Supports Him at Home

While Brittany handled snow day duties, Patrick continues recovering from a season-ending injury. The quarterback tore his ACL and LCL during Kansas City’s Week 15 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, a defeat that knocked the Kansas City Chiefs out of playoff contention.

He underwent reconstructive surgery shortly after and is now working toward returning for Week 1 of the 2026 season.

During his recovery, Patrick has leaned on Brittany and their children for support. It also marks the first time in four years he will watch the Super Bowl from home.

Despite the challenging stretch, Patrick continues to spotlight Brittany’s accomplishments and family moments online.

Brittany Mahomes Honored With Hall of Fame Induction

February also brought major news for Brittany outside of family life.

While Patrick attended Texas Tech University, Brittany played collegiate soccer at University of Texas at Tyler. On January 30, UT Tyler announced that Brittany will be inducted into its Athletics Hall of Fame alongside Dr. Howard Patterson and the 2016 softball team.

The school highlighted Brittany’s standout career from 2013 to 2016, noting she ranks second all-time in total points (78) and goals (31), third in game-winning goals (10) and assists (16), and tied for third in total games played (74).

The announcement also credited her 2016 season as one of the strongest in program history.

“She also put together arguably the best single-season in program history in 2016, scoring the most points (40), goals (18), and game-winning goals (7),” UT Tyler stated.

Patrick showed his pride by sharing the news on his Instagram Stories.
