Travis Kelce has yet to announce whether he plans to retire from the NFL after 13 seasons in the league. As a free agent, he would need a new contract to return and play with the Kansas City Chiefs.

If the decision was up to Chiefs owner and CEO Clark Hunt, the 36-year-old would be suiting up at Arrowhead for the 2026 season.

“He had another great year, maybe not on par with where he was four or five years ago, but still had over 800 yards, and was really one of the leaders on the offensive side of the ball for us,” Clark said on “Good Morning Football” on January 28.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that he can still play,” Hunt added. “We’re trying to be respectful and let him have the time that he needs to make a decision. He has a busy offseason with an engagement and marriage.”

Kelce promised to announce his decision before free agency starts in March. In the meantime, he’s staying on top of his off-the-field commitments. In addition to hosting his weekly podcast, “New Heights” and planning a wedding with fiancée Taylor Swift, he invested in another major company.

Travis Kelce’s Kelce Partnership With Sleep Number Sparked Immediate Stock Growth

The 11-time Pro Bowler is the newest investor and strategic partner for Sleep Number, a publicly traded bed company.

THR reported, “Sleep Number says that Kelce will become one of the company’s top shareholders (though he will hold less than 5 percent of the company) after acquiring stock in the open market and being granted RSUs that vest over three years. Kelce will also star in national marketing campaigns for the brand over that three-year period.”

Following the announcement, Sleep Number stock rose over 7 percent.

Sleep Number says Kelce has been a customer since 2019 and he’s publicly endorsed the products since 2020.

“I’m intentional about where I invest and the brands I align with. I’ve slept on a Sleep Number bed for years, and it’s been a constant through different seasons of my career and life,” said Kelce in a statement.

“The ability to adjust the bed as my recovery needs change is something I’ve personally relied on, and it’s why becoming an investor felt like a natural next step. This partnership reflects my confidence in where the company is headed and the growing opportunity around sleep.”

Travis Kelce Invested in Six Flags Alongside Jana Partners

Sleep Number isn’t Kelce’s only new investment partner. In October, Kelce announced that he’s investing in Six Flags.

The Wall Street Journal reported, “New York-based hedge fund Jana Partners, the National Football League star and other investors have a combined stake of about 9% of the theme-park operator’s shares, or $200 million, Jana executives revealed Tuesday.”

Kelce proudly shared the news on Instagram, “To all my fellow theme park and amusement park lovers. I have some exciting news!!! Couldn’t pass up the opportunity to continue the tradition and make Cedar Point and Six Flags even more special for the next generation of families! Excited to partner with JANA Partners as an investor in Six Flags. So crazy to even imagine this is real, but you gotta love it when life comes full circle.”

Fans were thrilled for Kelce. One person commented, “You are doing EXACTLY what I would do if I were rich and famous! Ohio thanks you!!!!” Another fan added, “Cedar Point was such a huge part of my childhood!! Gonna have to get my kids back up north to Sandusky and see what you do with the place!”
