Taylor Swift is, of course, engaged to Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, and she’s become quite the football enthusiast. It’s rare that Swift ever misses a home Kanas City Chiefs game, and if she does, it’s usually because of a scheduling a conflict when she’s on tour or in the studio.
Swift is getting ready to release a new album, “Life of a Showgirl,” on October 3. With the release date just a few weeks way, Swift has been rolling out some exciting events ahead of the record’s release, and one involves having select Target stores open at midnight local time on October 3 to sell copies of Swift’s new album. Speaking with Variety, the store said that 500 stores will be taking part in the midnight sales. It totally takes one back to the days of the local record store and all of the nostalgic Record Store Day events that happen annually.
Now, Swift has announced another event in advance of her album, and this one is extra special. In a post on social media, she says that she’s inviting everyone to this major event.

Swift took to social media on Friday, September 19, to announce that she’s inviting you to a “dazzling soirée” and “The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,” which is set for October 3 through 5, only in cinemas.
“You’ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single ‘The Fate of Ophelia,’ along with never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl,'” she adds in the post with a fire-heart emoji. “Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan… Tickets are on sale now. Dancing is optional but very much encouraged.”
She adds that “showtimes may vary, so check your local listings.” Also, tickets are limited and available at the release party’s site.
Travis Kelce is a Fan of Taylor Swift’s Music
The Chiefs are gearing up for a matchup against the New York Giants, and they’re 0-2 for the season, so they badly need this win. They’re huge favorites over the Giants, but they can’t take a win for granted. Ahead of the season starting, Kelce was on the cover of GQ magazine for the publication’s September 2025 issue, and he also did an interview with them.
“I get to be the plus one. I get to go and be that fan,” he said of being with Swift in the interview. “Because I am a fan. I’m a fan of music. I’m a fan of art. And it’s so cool that I get to experience her being that plus one for me on the football field…. I feel that same enjoyment every time she comes to my shows.”
It’s heartwarming to see these two so supportive of each other. No word yet on if Kelce is involved with Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” movie screenings, but he’s likely some of the inspiration behind the new album.
