The Raiders are set to miss out on Brian Daboll for their head coach opening, as he's closing in on becoming the Titans' offensive coordinator

The Las Vegas Raiders are making some big changes as they prepare to enter the 2026 campaign. After enduring another miserable year in 2025, the Raiders have already decided to fire head coach Pete Carroll after just one season, and they are one of three teams still looking for a new leader for their squad.

Las Vegas has been thorough when it comes to its search for a new head coach, but its slow process is beginning to come back to bite the team. Several candidates have already landed with new teams, and it appears another option, former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll, has come off the board after a new update regarding the Tennessee Titans‘ pursuit of him has emerged.

Brian Daboll Closing in on Becoming Titans’ Offensive Coordinator

Despite his tenure with the Giants coming to a rough end, Daboll drew quite a bit of interest from teams across the league this offseason looking for a new head coach or offensive coordinator. After missing out on several head coach openings, reports indicated that Daboll was set to become the Titans’ offensive coordinator.

The one contingency to that development was the Raiders’ head coach job. If Daboll were to be offered the position, he would accept that over Tennessee’s offensive coordinator gig. With only a handful of options left in the running, it seemed like Daboll had a decent shot at getting hired by Las Vegas.

In just a few hours, though, it seems like things have changed regarding Daboll’s standing in the Raiders’ head coach race. That’s because new reports have emerged indicating that Daboll is in Nashville to sign a deal that would officially make him the Titans’ offensive coordinator, which would take him out of Las Vegas’ head coach search.

“BREAKING: The Titans have received a commitment from Brian Daboll to become their OC, per multiple sources,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz shared in a post on X. “He’s in Nashville now to sign. Daboll has a strong affinity for QB Cam Ward, and the two will now officially be paired together.”

Who Will the Raiders Hire as Next Head Coach?

Daboll’s decision to officially latch on with the Titans indicates that he either withdrew from the running for the Raiders’ head coach job or that he believes the team is going to hire someone else. Las Vegas remains heavily linked to Denver Broncos‘ pass game coordinator Davis Webb, who could very well end up being hired by the team.

If that isn’t the reason Daboll is no longer in consideration for this job, though, that means things have gone from bad to worse for the Raiders in their head coach search. With only a few candidates remaining, Las Vegas has to make a decision soon, or else it will risk missing out on another one of its targets. Now that Daboll is off the board, Raiders fans are left scratching their head wondering who their team’s head coach will end up being.
