As long as Maxx Crosby remains quiet on the matter, there are going to be more and more rumors about him possibly getting traded by the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason. With the team going 3-14, it could make some sense for both sides if he’s traded this offseason.
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams knows a thing or two about getting traded by the Raiders. He started last season with the team before getting moved to the New York Jets.
Despite the fact that he’s on a different team now, Adams admitted that he is keeping in contact with Crosby, along with a few other former Raiders teammates.
“I have,” Adams said when asked if he’s spoken with Crosby on “Up & Adams.” “Been kind of letting him breathe a little bit, but I’ve been in his ear just checking on my guy. A few guys over there, him, Tre Tucker, DJ Turner, I’ve been checking on my guys. I’m making sure they’re good.”
The Rams are a team that could feasibly be in the market for Crosby. General manager Les Snead has never been afraid of trading draft picks to get proven stars. However, Adams made it clear that his conversations with Crosby are strictly about life, and he hasn’t brought up the idea of him playing in Los Angeles.
“No recruiting,” Adams said. “No advice. The recruiting is what we are doing, what we’re putting on tape every week.”
Rams Have 2 First-Round Picks in 2026
If the Rams want Crosby, they have the assets to make a deal happen. The team owns their first-round pick in 2026, along with the Atlanta Falcons‘, which is No. 13 on the board. The Raiders are going to want at least two first-round picks for Crosby.
The Rams could offer up both of this year’s picks. They could also offer one this year and then another next year, so they would still have one to work with in 2026. The main reason they might be less inclined to trade away their first-round picks this time around is the fact that they might have a need at quarterback.
Matthew Stafford had an excellent season and could win league MVP, but he’s turning 38 next month. Retirement could be coming sooner rather than later. It’s hard to imagine he calls it a career after such a great season, but if he does, the Rams are going to save their picks in an effort to find their quarterback of the future.
Crosby Loves LA
Crosby has been such a great player and leader for the Raiders, so if they trade him, they’re going to send him somewhere he wants to be. The Rams would make a lot of sense for Crosby, as he’s previously spoken about his love for Los Angeles.
“I tell my wife this all the time, and I tell everybody around me all the time, I love LA,” Crosby told Heavy Sports in an interview back in 2024. “I got sober in LA, so there’s this special energy in the air when I go there. I truly love it.”
