DeAngelo Hall thinks there is a conflict of interest between Tom Brady's Raiders ownership and his broadcasting duties with Fox

The Las Vegas Raiders have had a hectic start to the 2025 campaign, and they will be looking to get back on track in Week 4 after suffering two straight losses to the Los Angeles Chargers and Washington Commanders. However, the biggest storyline surrounding the Raiders currently involves legendary quarterback Tom Brady and his minority ownership stake in the team.

Over the past few months, Brady has become increasingly involved with Las Vegas, to the point where he was sitting in the coaches’ booth during their Week 2 loss. That wouldn’t typically be an issue, but Brady is also a broadcaster with Fox, meaning he has the ability to get some insider info that he could conceivably use to help the Raiders. It’s a controversial subject, and former Pro Bowl cornerback DeAngelo Hall recently made his thoughts on the situation very clear.

DeAngelo Hall Weighs in on Tom Brady, Raiders Controversy

Brady is the first person to work as a minority owner of a team and as a broadcaster at the same time. The reason this has a lot of folks up in arms is because, as part of his broadcasting duties, Brady is involved in production meetings for Fox, where he meets up with players and coaches from the teams featured in the game he will be working for each specific week.

In theory, Brady could take some of the details he receives from these production meetings and use them to give the Raiders an advantage in future games. There are still some restrictions the league has in place for Brady in regard to his role with the Raiders, but they were significantly loosened heading into the 2025 season (for reference, Brady was not allowed to participate in these production meetings in 2024).

It’d be one thing if Brady weren’t super involved with Las Vegas, but all reports indicate his influence inside the organization is only growing, as evidenced by his presence in the coaches’ booth. Hall is a big fan of Brady’s, and while he doesn’t necessarily agree with the notion that he is gaining a major competitive advantage for the Raiders, he does believe that it is a conflict of interest.

“I do think there is a conflict of interest at times,” Hall admitted in an interview with Betway Insider. “When you’re doing those production meetings with teams as an analyst, you’re getting some of those secrets. You might not get all the secret sauce but you’re getting enough of those details of what’s coming up in the game plan that I think can help you.”

“The players ultimately have to go out there and perform but I think some of the information in these production meetings can help you.”

So far, the NFL has come out and said that Brady isn’t violating any of the guidelines put in place for him, but the public outcry regarding his roles with the Raiders and Fox is beginning to grow. There may come a time when Brady gives up his gig with Fox, but considering how he signed a 10-year contract with them, it doesn’t seem like he has much of an incentive to leave them right now.

It’d be one thing if Las Vegas were winning games, but they have struggled pretty mightily after taking down Brady’s old team, the New England Patriots, in Week 1. If there is an advantage he’s receiving, it’s likely very minimal, and it clearly isn’t helping the Raiders currently. So while Brady will be preparing for his Week 4 assignment with Fox, he will also be hoping to see Las Vegas get back in the win column when they take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
