The news surrounding Las Vegas Raiders’ star pass rusher Maxx Crosby is continuing to grow.
Ever since the Raiders decided to shut down Crosby’s season, which resulted in him leaving the facility and being upset with the organization, rumors about his future in Las Vegas have only grown.
Crosby will be 29 by the time next season rolls around and has given everything he possibly can to the Raiders. The Raiders, on the other hand, are heading towards another rebuild.
Because of that, NFL insider Jay Glazer believes his time with Las Vegas is done.
Jay Glazer Believes Maxx Crosby’s Time With the Raiders is Done
In an appearance with Yahoo Sports, Glazer explained how the Raiders made a mistake shutting down Crosby during the season. “There’s a couple guys. They tell you they’re playing, they’re playing.”
He was then asked if he believes Crosby’s time with the Raiders is done. “I do. So the day it [shutting down Crosby] happened, no less than 20 teams called me, and asked, ‘Is this real. Can we get him?'”
Glazer then went on to say that this is Crosby’s decision, not the Raiders, on why he’s done with the team. “They [Raiders] don’t want to do it. But he was just like, ‘I’m not going through another rebuild.'”
Now, it would make sense to see why 1. The Raiders do not want to trade Crosby, and 2. Why Crosby does not want to go through another rebuild. There’s no doubt that Crosby has loved being a part of the Raiders’ organization since day one, and he’s made that clear. However, he’s also made it clear that he wants to win.
“Of course I would love to be here, but I wanna win. I want to win, period. I’m a winner. That’s in my blood. So every day I wake up, I’m trying to win. …And for me, if it’s meant to be it’s meant to be, you know what I mean? If I’m supposed to be here, I’m supposed to be here. If they don’t think that, I’m not gonna sit here and try to sell myself short.”
Crosby said this a year ago. Now, he still has the mindset to want to win, but does he still believe he wants to stay in Las Vegas? Glazer doesn’t believe so.
What Could the Raiders Receive in Return for Crosby?
Glazer was also asked what the Raiders could receive in return for Crosby, and he said, “probably more than Micah [Parsons].”
The Dallas Cowboys received a 2026 and 2027 first-round pick along with three-time Pro Bowler Kenny Clark.
That said, it won’t be a total loss for the Raiders to trade Crosby away if they are able to haul in more than the Cowboys got for Parsons.
For general manager John Spytek, this could be the most difficult decision he makes this offseason. “I envision Maxx being a Raider for a long time here, and I think that’s what he wants to,” Spytek said. “Yeah, we’ll just go forward with that in mind.”
But is it really what Crosby wants? Or will Spytek eventually trade him away?
