Players like Kolton Miller and Maxx Crosby have had to see a lot of coaching turnover since joining the Las Vegas Raiders. With the Pete Carroll firing, the Raiders are about to hire their sixth head coach since 2018.

The decision to fire Carroll wasn’t a surprise after a 3-14 season, but it is indicative of a bigger problem with the franchise. They just can’t seem to find the right head coach, no matter what they do.

Crosby has been clear about his desire to win and has started to get frustrated with the Raiders. He finally had a chance to address the Carroll firing, which he referred to as “gloomy,” as he’s still trying to process it.

“But I will say, you know, the one thing I did admire about Pete is he was as consistent as they come,” Crosby said on the “Let’s Go!” podcast. “He has won for such a long time. He is a Super Bowl champion. He won a national championship at USC. He has been an incredible coach, and he has had an incredible journey. So unfortunately, this thing didn’t work out the way we expected it, but he has done an incredible job and had an incredible career, and he was always awesome to me.

“Still gonna have that relationship regardless. Had a lot of coaches in my time to say the least, but all of those coaches, you take something from ’em, you learn something from ’em. And just we’re back to the process again and trying to figure out whatever that’s gonna be. I wish him the best. Like I said, he was always incredible to me and treated me amazing. Big shout out to Coach Pete, and we’ll see what happens next.”

Will Crosby Finally Ask for Trade?

Crosby has remained loyal to the Raiders, but that could change. It’s unclear if he felt strongly about keeping Carroll, but he can’t be happy that he’s getting another new head coach.

The Raiders might be a year away from being a year away. The fact that they have the No. 1 pick could convince Crosby to stick around, but this is the first time that it seems like there’s a real chance he could ask for a trade.

John Spytek Addresses Crosby Situation

General manager John Spytek was able to keep his job, which should help in the effort to keep Crosby. It’s hard to imagine the Raiders would be thrilled with the idea of trading him.

That said, Spytek didn’t have anything of substance to say about the Crosby situation when asked.

“I have a lot of respect for Maxx [Crosby] and how much he loves to play the game,” Spytek told reporters during a Monday press conference. “It’s been well documented that he didn’t love the idea of not playing football, and I think you always want that from your best players. In fact, I think that’s why they’re your best players. So, I love Maxx; he embodies what a Raider is. I’ve been pretty upfront with that from the day that I sat up here almost a year ago, and I continue to believe that.”
