The Los Angeles Rams are moving on from Drey Norwood.
Norwood is a an undrafted rookie free agent out of Missouri by way of Texas A&M, and was a first among this year’s crop of Tigers entering the NFL.
The Rams overhauled their cornerback room this offseason, acquiring Trent McDuffie in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs, and then signing his teammate, Jaylen Watson, in free agency. But those moves are not what is squeezing Norwood off the Rams’ roster.
Rams Being Cutting Ties With UDFA CB Drey Norwood

“LA Rams Roster Moves,” the Rams announced in a post on X on August 8. “Waived, Injured CB Drey Norwood.”
Norwood, 23, is listed on the Rams’ official website at 6-feet and 187 pounds. The rookie defender also participated in the Chiefs’ local prospect day before landing an opportunity to impress the Rams in April.
It is unclear what led to the decision to waive Norwood.
Next, Norwood will go through the waiver process. If he goes unclaimed, he will revert to the Rams’ IR. After that, the two sides can negotiate an injury settlement.
Once the two sides come to terms on a settlement agreement, the Rams can officially part ways with Norwood. He will be free to sign with almost any team he pleases. The only exception is the Rams.
He must wait three weeks past the expiration of their settlement agreement to return to LA.

Norwood started three years for the Tigers, spending four years at Missouri after transferring from Texas A&M,” Missouri Tigers on SI’s Joey Van Zummeren, Killian Wright, and Michael Stamps wrote in April.
“Over four years with Missouri, Norwood recorded 93 total tackles, 14 pass deflections and three interceptions.”
