Josh Reynold could have a new home in the AFC.

The Los Angeles Rams could very well see former starting wide receiver Josh Reynolds link up with an AFC title contender.

Reynolds, who was drafted 117th overall by the Rams in 2017, has been on several other teams in his career, but his Rams tenure remains his longest yet. However, this new team would give him his best shot at a ring yet.

The former fourth-round pick must secure the deal first.

Texans Move on Former Rams WR Josh Reynolds

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler broke the news that the Houston Texans are showing an interest in Reynolds, taking measures to get a closer look at the 31-year-old playmaker.

“The Texans, thin at receiver with Jayden Higgins out, are conducting free agent receiver workouts,” Fowler reported on X on August 21. “Josh Reynolds is a name on the team’s radar, as is Zay Jones.”

Fowler tipped his cap to KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson about Jones.

Wilson also explained what the Texans would be seeking in a trade target, if they decide to go that route amid a season-ending injury to intended WR2, Jayden Higgins.

“The Texans, ideally, want a bigger receiver should they bring in outside reinforcements, per a league source,” Wilson reported in a post on X on August 21, noting that the Texans have made exploratory trade calls.

Reynold spent the 2025 season with the New York Jets.

Josh Reynolds’ Journey Continues

Since leaving the Rams, he has had stints with the Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tennessee Titans.

Reynolds caught 113 passes for 1,450 yards and 9 touchdowns during his career, which includes the Rams’ failed Super Bowl run during the 2018 season. Reynolds started that game, finishing with three receptions for 28 yards against the New England Patriots.

Now, he could help the Texans solve their problems.

Like the Rams, the Texans are among the favorites to reach the Super Bowl this coming season, but losing Higgins was a blow.

It remains to be seen if Reynolds is the answer in Houston, but he has garnered interest in recent weeks. For his career, Reynolds has a 244-3,228-20 line.

Rams Lack Proven Veteran

Reynolds would not be a bad target for the Rams, who have little experience behind stars Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.

The Rams also plan on leaning on their heavy personnel with multiple tight ends, and they have a potent 1-2 combination at running back with Kyren Williams and Blake Corum, who are more like 1A and 1B than RB1 and RB2.

Still, having someone like Reynolds could prove invaluable.

He is already familiar with the offense, having played under head coach Sean McVay, and he is a big-bodied target, which helps in the run game, and someone who understands his role.

The Rams have earned a lot of offseason buzz due to their star-laden approach. But a move for Reynolds, while likely less-heralded, could be just as impactful.  That is, if the Texans or another team does not beat them to the punch before they can make a move themselves.
