Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested and charged with trespassing in Tampa Bay, Florida, early Monday morning in what’s become the latest run-in with the law for the young star receiver.

According to court documents obtained by Heavy, Addison was arrested by Seminole Indian Police at 3:46 a.m. ET on January 12. He was charged with a first-degree misdemeanor for trespassing in an occupied structure or conveyance.

A source told Heavy that Addison was arrested at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, located 12 miles from the Tampa Bay International Airport, which was confirmed in court documents. He was released from custody at 2:40 p.m. ET on Monday after posting bail for a $500 cash bond, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

This is the latest of a string of behavioral issues for the Vikings receiver.

Addison, 23, was suspended by the NFL for the first three games of the 2025 season after he was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Los Angeles in July 2024. He later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.

Addison was also pulled over for driving 140 mph in Minnesota during the summer of his rookie year. He pleaded guilty to a single count of speeding in Ramsey County Court as part of a plea deal that dismissed a charge of reckless driving.

Vikings’ Kevin O’Connell Speaks on Addison’s Arrest

Appearing for his end-of-season news conference, head coach Kevin O’Connell was asked about Addison’s arrest.

O’Connell was not ready to provide full comment, but said that the Vikings are going to investigate the incident.

“I just learned about that very, very recently, so I don’t want to speculate on that in any way, shape or form,” O’Connell said. “I do think we’ll get as many facts and find out exactly what happened. Speculating at this point would be incredibly premature for me.”

Vikings Facing Vital Jordan Addison Decision This Offseason

Addison’s arrest couldn’t have come at a worse time for the young receiver, who is entering the final year of his contract with the Vikings.

Addison is eligible to have the fifth-year option in his contract exercised, which pays him $17.5 million guaranteed for the 2027 season, worth more than his entire four-year, $13.4 million rookie deal.

Addison has proved it on the field, averaging 885 yards receiving and has totaled 22 touchdowns in 46 career games.

However, after several mishaps, Addison’s future could come into question.

This includes an incident during the team’s trip to London, where Addison missed team walkthroughs and was benched for the first quarter against the Cleveland Browns. He later made up for that lost time, catching the game-winning touchdown with 25 seconds left in regulation.

That game was a microcosm of the Addison experience, where his performance on the field compensated for his missteps.

How long this cycle can go on in Minnesota remains to be seen.

The Vikings must also decide whether to re-sign or let receiver Jalen Nailor reach free agency in March after Nailor has stepped up several times in Addison’s absence.
